Sauces and Flavorings

For Caramelizing Onions

Method

Prepare the Caramelized Onions

  1. 1

    Caramelize the Onions

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and sprinkle with salt. Cook for about 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the onions are golden brown and caramelized.

Cook the Steak and Mushrooms

  1. 2

    Cook the Steak

Season the steak with salt and pepper. In the same skillet, increase the heat to medium-high. Sear the steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Remove from skillet and let it rest.

  2. 3

    Sauté the Mushrooms

In the same skillet, add the wild mushrooms and sauté for 5-7 minutes until softened and browned. Add the fresh spinach and cook until wilted, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat.

Combine and Serve

  1. 4

    Combine Ingredients

Slice the rested steak into thin strips. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sautéed mushrooms and spinach with the caramelized onions, steak, alfredo sauce, and demi-glace. Mix well.

  2. 5

    Bake

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer the mixture to a baking dish, top with shredded mozzarella cheese, and bake for 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

  3. 6

    Garnish and Serve

Remove from the oven, sprinkle with chopped chives, and serve hot. Enjoy your Steak Mushroom Spinach dish!
