Toppings (Optional)

Method

Espresso Preparation

  1. 1

    Brew the Espresso

In an espresso machine, add 2 tablespoons of espresso coffee grounds to the portafilter. Fill the machine's water reservoir with 60 ml of water and brew the espresso.

Chocolate Syrup Preparation

  1. 2

    Make the Chocolate Syrup

In a small saucepan, combine 1 tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa powder, 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar, and 2 tablespoons of water. Stir over medium heat until the mixture is smooth and begins to bubble. Remove from heat and set aside.

Steaming Milk

  1. 3

    Steam the Milk

In a separate container, pour 200 ml of milk. Use a steam wand or milk frother to heat and froth the milk until it’s creamy and has a velvety texture.

Assembling the Mocha

  1. 4

    Combine Ingredients

In a large coffee mug, pour the brewed espresso. Add the prepared chocolate syrup and stir until well combined. Slowly pour the steamed milk over the espresso mixture.

  2. 5

    Garnish (Optional)

If desired, top your mocha with whipped cream and sprinkle chocolate shavings on top for added flavor and presentation.
