Espresso

Froth and Milk

Method

Preparing Espresso

  1. 1

    Grind the Coffee

Grind 18g of espresso coffee beans to a fine consistency.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Espresso

Using an espresso machine, brew the ground coffee with 60ml of water to extract a rich espresso shot. This should take about 25-30 seconds.

Frothing the Milk

  1. 3

    Heat the Milk

In a small saucepan, heat 150ml of whole milk over medium heat until it's hot but not boiling, about 2-3 minutes.

  2. 4

    Froth the Milk

Use a milk frother or a whisk to froth the heated milk until it doubles in volume and is creamy, about 1-2 minutes.

Assembling the Cappuccino

  1. 5

    Combine Espresso and Milk

Pour the freshly brewed espresso into a coffee cup. Gently pour the frothed milk over the espresso, allowing the foam to sit on top.

  2. 6

    Optional Garnish

Sprinkle cocoa powder or cinnamon on top of the froth for extra flavor, if desired.
