Method

Cake Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 200°C (392°F). Grease four ramekins with butter and dust them with flour.

  2. 2

    Melt Chocolate and Butter

In a heatproof bowl, combine the dark chocolate and unsalted butter. Melt them together over a pot of simmering water, stirring occasionally until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

  3. 3

    Mix Sugar and Eggs

In a separate bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar and eggs until light and fluffy.

  4. 4

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the melted chocolate mixture to the egg mixture, stirring constantly to prevent the eggs from cooking.

  5. 5

    Add Dry Ingredients

Sift in the all-purpose flour and salt, gently folding the mixture until just combined.

  6. 6

    Fill Ramekins

Pour the batter evenly into the prepared ramekins, filling them about 3/4 full.

  7. 7

    Bake

Place the ramekins in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the center is still soft.

  8. 8

    Cool and Serve

Remove from the oven and let cool for 1-2 minutes. Carefully invert each ramekin onto a plate.

Whipped Cream Preparation

  1. 9

    Whip Cream

In a mixing bowl, combine the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Using an electric mixer, whip on medium-high speed until soft peaks form.
