Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Rinse the Rice

Place the long-grain rice in a fine-mesh strainer and rinse under cold water. This helps remove excess starch and prevents the rice from becoming sticky.

  2. 2

    Sauté the Vegetables

In a large saucepan, heat the olive oil and butter over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and diced carrot. Sauté for about 5 minutes until the vegetables are softened.

  3. 3

    Add Garlic

Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.

  4. 4

    Toast the Rice

Add the rinsed rice to the saucepan with the sautéed vegetables. Stir for about 2-3 minutes, allowing the rice to toast slightly and absorb the flavors.

  5. 5

    Add Broth and Seasonings

Pour in the chicken broth, add salt and black pepper. Stir to combine all ingredients.

  6. 6

    Cook the Rice

Bring the mixture to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan with a lid, and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and all the liquid is absorbed.

  7. 7

    Fluff and Garnish

Once cooked, remove the saucepan from heat. Let it sit covered for another 5 minutes. Then, fluff the rice with a fork and stir in the chopped parsley before serving.
