Meatball Mixture

For Cooking

Method

Prepare the Meatball Mixture

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, grated onion, minced garlic, chopped parsley, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.

  2. 2

    Add Eggs

Crack the eggs into the mixture and mix again until the eggs are fully incorporated into the meat mixture.

  3. 3

    Form the Meatballs

Using your hands, take small portions of the meat mixture and roll them into balls about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter. Continue until all the mixture is used.

Cook the Meatballs

  1. 4

    Heat the Olive Oil

In a large skillet, heat 4 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.

  2. 5

    Brown the Meatballs

Once the oil is hot, carefully add the meatballs in batches to the skillet, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Cook for about 4-5 minutes, turning occasionally until they are browned on all sides.

  3. 6

    Cook Through

Reduce the heat to medium-low and cover the skillet. Cook for an additional 10-12 minutes until the meatballs are cooked through and reach an internal temperature of 160°F (70°C).

  4. 7

    Remove and Serve

Once cooked, remove the meatballs from the skillet and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce or as part of a main dish.
