Hot Dog

Sloppy Mixture

Method

Preparation of Sloppy Mixture

  1. 1

    Cook the Beef

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, approximately 5-7 minutes.

  2. 2

    Add Vegetables

Add the chopped onion, green bell pepper, and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for another 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are softened.

  3. 3

    Combine Sauce Ingredients

Stir in the tomato sauce, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to combine.

  4. 4

    Simmer

Reduce heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally until the sauce thickens.

Cooking Hot Dogs

  1. 5

    Prepare Hot Dogs

While the sloppy mixture is simmering, grill or boil the Dearborn hot dogs according to package instructions until heated through.

  2. 6

    Toast Buns (Optional)

If desired, lightly toast the hot dog buns on the grill or in a toaster for added flavor and texture.

Assembly

  1. 7

    Assemble the Dish

Place each cooked hot dog into a bun. Generously spoon the sloppy mixture on top of each hot dog.

  2. 8

    Serve

Serve immediately while hot, and enjoy your Michigan-style hot dogs!
