Sauce

Method

Preparing the Sauce

  1. 1

    Cook the Sauce

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, add olive oil. Once hot, add crushed tomatoes, garlic powder, red pepper flakes, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Stir to combine.

  2. 2

    Simmer

Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. This allows the flavors to meld together.

Assembling the Pizza

  1. 3

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). This high temperature will help achieve a crispy crust.

  2. 4

    Spread the Sauce

On a pizza crust (store-bought or homemade), spread an even layer of the prepared spicy red sauce, leaving a small border around the edge.

  3. 5

    Add Cheese

Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese evenly over the sauce.

  4. 6

    Layer on Toppings

Distribute pepperoni slices and fresh jalapeños over the cheese.

  5. 7

    Drizzle with Hot Honey

Drizzle hot honey evenly over the toppings for an added kick of sweetness.

Baking the Pizza

  1. 8

    Bake

Carefully place the assembled pizza in the preheated oven. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the crust is golden brown.

  2. 9

    Cool and Slice

Once baked, remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Slice into pieces and serve while hot.
