Method

Burger Patty Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patty Mixture

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently with your hands until well combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to help them cook evenly.

Mushroom Topping Preparation

  1. 3

    Sauté the Mushrooms

In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Then, add the sliced mushrooms and soy sauce. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the mushrooms are tender and browned.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 4

    Grill the Patties

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.

  2. 5

    Melt the Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty and cover the grill or skillet with a lid to melt the cheese.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 6

    Prepare the Buns

While the cheese is melting, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 7

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cheesy burger patty, sautéed mushrooms, a slice of tomato, ketchup, and mustard to taste. Top with the other half of the bun.
