Hoagie Preparation

Cheese and Bacon Filling

Method

Hoagie Assembly

  1. 1

    Prepare the Hoagie Rolls

Slice the hoagie rolls in half lengthwise, making sure not to cut all the way through. Spread butter evenly on the cut sides of each roll.

  2. 2

    Toast the Hoagie Rolls

Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat. Place the buttered hoagie rolls cut-side down on the skillet and toast until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.

Cheese and Bacon Filling Preparation

  1. 3

    Layer the Cheese and Bacon

On the bottom half of each toasted hoagie roll, layer 2 slices of American cheese followed by 2 pieces of cooked bacon.

  2. 4

    Melt the Cheese

Place the top half of the hoagie roll back on the sandwich and return the hoagie to the skillet. Cover with a lid to help melt the cheese. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the sandwich is heated through.

Serving

  1. 5

    Serve the Hoagies

Carefully remove the hoagies from the skillet. Cut in half if desired, and serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces or sides.
