Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon strips until crispy. This should take about 5-7 minutes. Once done, place them on a paper towel to drain excess grease.

  2. 2

    Fry the Egg

In the same skillet, add butter to the remaining bacon fat and let it melt. Crack the egg into the skillet and fry it to your preferred doneness (sunny-side up or over-easy). Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

  3. 3

    Toast the Bun (Optional)

If desired, lightly toast the burger bun in the same skillet until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes.

Assembly

  1. 4

    Assemble the Eggburger

On the bottom half of the toasted bun, place the crispy bacon strips. Next, place the fried egg on top of the bacon. Add the cheese slice over the egg while it's still hot to allow it to melt slightly.

  2. 5

    Finish and Serve

Top with the other half of the burger bun. Serve immediately with your choice of side, such as fries or a salad.
