Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
Cut the boneless chicken breast into bite-sized pieces, approximately 1-2 inches in size.
- 2
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a bowl, combine all-purpose flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well.
- 3
Prepare Wet Ingredients
In another bowl, whisk together the egg and buttermilk until fully combined.
Breading and Frying
- 4
Coat the Chicken
Dip each chicken piece into the wet mixture, then dredge in the dry mixture, ensuring each piece is evenly coated.
- 5
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 6
Fry the Wings
Carefully add the coated chicken pieces to the hot oil, frying in batches if necessary. Fry for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
- 7
Drain the Wings
Remove the wings from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Saucing and Serving
- 8
Toss in Sauce
In a large bowl, toss the fried wings with your choice of sauce until evenly coated. If you prefer them plain, serve without sauce.
- 9
Serve
Serve the boneless wings hot with extra sauce on the side, if desired.
