Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prep the Chicken Wings

Rinse the chicken wings under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Place them in a large bowl.

  2. 2

    Coat with Olive Oil

Drizzle the olive oil over the chicken wings and toss them until they are evenly coated.

  3. 3

    Mix the Dry Rub

In a small bowl, combine the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, brown sugar, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.

  4. 4

    Season the Wings

Sprinkle the dry rub mixture over the wings and toss until they are well coated.

Smoking

  1. 5

    Prepare the Smoker

Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C) and add your choice of wood chips (such as hickory or apple) for flavor.

  2. 6

    Smoke the Wings

Place the seasoned chicken wings on the smoker racks, making sure they are not overcrowded. Smoke for about 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

Optional Sauce Preparation

  1. 7

    Make the Buffalo Sauce

In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Stir in the buffalo sauce and honey until well combined. Remove from heat.

  2. 8

    Toss Wings in Sauce

Once the wings are done smoking, place them in a large bowl and drizzle the buffalo sauce over them. Toss until they are evenly coated.

Serving

  1. 9

    Serve the Wings

Transfer the smoked wings to a serving platter and enjoy them hot, either plain or with your favorite dipping sauce.
