Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil over medium-high heat.

  2. 2

    Brew Tea

Once the water is boiling, remove it from heat and add 4 black tea bags. Let the tea steep for about 5-7 minutes, depending on how strong you want the flavor.

  3. 3

    Remove Tea Bags

After steeping, carefully remove the tea bags from the saucepan. If you prefer a sweeter tea, this is the time to add your sweetener of choice.

Sweetening

  1. 4

    Add Sweetener

If you want to sweeten your iced tea, add 1 cup of granulated sugar, 1/2 cup of honey, or 1 tsp of stevia to the warm tea. Stir well until fully dissolved.

  2. 5

    Add Lemon

For an extra refreshing touch, add lemon slices to taste and stir gently.

Cooling

  1. 6

    Cool the Tea

Allow the tea to cool to room temperature. You can speed this up by placing it in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.

Serving

  1. 7

    Prepare Glasses

Fill each glass with 1 cup of ice cubes.

  2. 8

    Pour Tea

Pour the cooled tea over the ice in each glass.

  3. 9

    Garnish

Garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired and serve immediately.
