Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Lemons

Start by rolling each lemon on a countertop with your palm to soften them. This will help release more juice.

  2. 2

    Juicing the Lemons

Cut the lemons in half and use a citrus juicer or reamer to extract juice. You should aim for about 1 cup of fresh lemon juice. Strain the juice into a measuring cup to remove seeds and pulp.

  3. 3

    Making the Lemonade Base

In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and 1 cup of granulated sugar over medium heat. Stir until the sugar is fully dissolved, creating a simple syrup. Remove from heat and let it cool.

  4. 4

    Mixing the Lemonade

In a large pitcher, combine the fresh lemon juice, the cooled simple syrup, and 3 cups of cold water. Stir well to combine.

  5. 5

    Serving the Lemonade

Add ice cubes to the pitcher or individual glasses. If desired, garnish with fresh mint leaves for an added refreshing touch.

  6. 6

    Taste and Adjust

Taste the lemonade. If it’s too tart, add more sugar; if it’s too sweet, add more lemon juice or a splash of water to balance.
