Method

Brisket Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Brisket

Trim excess fat from the brisket to ensure even cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Brisket

In a small bowl, mix together smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and kosher salt. Rub this spice mixture all over the brisket.

  3. 3

    Smoke the Brisket

Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C). Place the brisket in the smoker and add wood chips for smoke flavor. Smoke for about 10-12 hours or until tender and the internal temperature reaches 195°F (90°C).

  4. 4

    Rest and Slice

Once done, remove the brisket from the smoker and wrap it in foil. Let it rest for at least 30 minutes before slicing against the grain.

  5. 5

    Prepare the Sauce

Mix the sliced brisket with beef broth and barbecue sauce in a bowl to keep it moist.

Sandwich Assembly

  1. 6

    Toast the Buns

Lightly toast the burger buns on a grill or in a skillet until golden brown.

  2. 7

    Assemble the Sandwich

Place a generous portion of the sliced brisket on the bottom half of each bun. Top with pickles and optional coleslaw, then cover with the top half of the bun.

  3. 8

    Serve

Serve the brisket sandwiches warm with extra barbecue sauce on the side if desired.
