Method
Preparing the Brisket
- 1
Season the Brisket
In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and brown sugar. Rub this spice mixture all over the brisket, ensuring it is well coated on all sides.
- 2
Marinate the Brisket
Place the seasoned brisket in a large zip-top bag or container. Pour the apple cider vinegar and beef broth over the brisket. Seal the bag or cover the container and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
- 3
Preheat the Smoker
Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C).
- 4
Smoke the Brisket
Remove the brisket from the marinade and let it come to room temperature. Place it in the smoker and smoke for about 1.5 hours per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 195°F (90°C).
- 5
Rest the Brisket
Once done, remove the brisket from the smoker and let it rest for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
Preparing the Sides
- 6
Make the Coleslaw
In a large bowl, combine the coleslaw mix, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, salt, and black pepper. Toss everything together until well mixed. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
- 7
Heat the Baked Beans
In a saucepan, heat the baked beans over medium heat, stirring occasionally until warmed through, about 5-10 minutes.
