Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cheese Sauce

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Once melted, add the all-purpose flour and whisk continuously for about 1-2 minutes until it forms a paste (roux).

  2. 2

    Add Milk

Slowly whisk in the milk, ensuring there are no lumps. Continue stirring until the mixture thickens, about 3-4 minutes.

  3. 3

    Incorporate Cheese

Lower the heat and add the shredded cheddar cheese and cream cheese. Stir until completely melted and smooth. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Assembly

  1. 4

    Layer the Nachos

On a large baking sheet or oven-safe platter, spread an even layer of tortilla chips.

  2. 5

    Add Brisket

Evenly distribute the shredded smoked brisket over the tortilla chips.

  3. 6

    Top with Cheese Sauce

Pour the prepared cheese sauce generously over the brisket and tortilla chips.

  4. 7

    Add Jalapeños

Sprinkle the sliced jalapeños over the top of the nachos.

  5. 8

    Drizzle with BBQ Sauce

Finish by drizzling BBQ sauce over the nachos to taste.

Baking

  1. 9

    Bake the Nachos

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the assembled nachos in the oven and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the edges of the chips are golden.
