Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ribs

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Rinse the baby back ribs under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Remove the silver skin from the back of the ribs for better seasoning absorption.

  2. 2

    Make the Dry Rub

In a bowl, combine brown sugar, paprika, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Mix well to combine all the ingredients for an even rub.

  3. 3

    Apply the Dry Rub

Generously coat the ribs with the dry rub on both sides, ensuring even coverage. Let them sit for at least 30 minutes to absorb the flavors.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Bake the Ribs

Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil, meat side up. Cover tightly with more aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours until tender.

  2. 5

    Prepare the Barbecue Sauce

While the ribs are baking, prepare the barbecue sauce. In a saucepan, combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, honey, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  3. 6

    Glaze the Ribs

After baking the ribs, carefully remove them from the oven and discard the top foil. Brush a layer of barbecue sauce over the ribs. Increase the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C). Return the ribs to the oven, uncovered, for an additional 15-20 minutes, basting with more sauce halfway through.

Serving

  1. 7

    Serve the Ribs

Once the ribs are caramelized and bubbly, remove them from the oven. Let them rest for 10 minutes before slicing between the bones. Serve with extra barbecue sauce on the side.
