Method
Preparation
- 1
Chill the Champagne
Ensure the Champagne or sparkling wine is chilled thoroughly before serving. Place the bottle in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or in an ice bucket for 30 minutes.
- 2
Juice the Oranges
If using fresh oranges, cut them in half and use a juicer to extract the juice until you have 2 cups of fresh orange juice. Strain if desired to remove pulp.
- 3
Combine Ingredients
In a champagne flute, pour 1 part fresh orange juice and 2 parts chilled Champagne or sparkling wine. The typical ratio is 1 cup of orange juice to 2 cups of Champagne.
- 4
Garnish
Optionally, garnish each glass with an orange slice on the rim for a decorative touch.
- 5
Serve Immediately
Serve the mimosas immediately while the champagne is still bubbly.
