Method
Biscuits
- 1
Prepare Biscuit Dough
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the butter using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the milk until just combined.
- 2
Shape and Bake Biscuits
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently a few times. Pat into a 1-inch thick round and cut into biscuits. Place on a baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 425°F (220°C) for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
Gravy
- 3
Cook the Sausage
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground sausage until browned and cooked through, breaking it apart with a spatula.
- 4
Make the Gravy
Sprinkle the flour over the cooked sausage and stir to combine. Gradually add the milk while stirring continuously until the gravy thickens. Season with black pepper and salt to taste. Keep warm.
Eggs
- 5
Cook the Eggs
In a non-stick skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Crack the eggs into the skillet and cook to your desired doneness (fried, scrambled, or poached). Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Hash Browns
- 6
Prepare the Potatoes
Peel and shred the russet potatoes. Rinse them under cold water to remove excess starch, then drain and pat dry with paper towels.
- 7
Cook the Hash Browns
In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Add the shredded potatoes and diced onion, and season with salt and black pepper. Cook until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes per side.
