Method

Hash Browns

  1. 1

    Cook the Hash Browns

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the frozen shredded hash browns to the skillet, spreading them out evenly. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for about 5-7 minutes without stirring until the bottom is golden brown. Flip the hash browns and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes until the other side is golden brown and crispy.

Hamburger Patty

  1. 2

    Prepare the Hamburger Patty

While the hash browns are cooking, shape the ground beef into a patty. Season both sides with salt and pepper. In another skillet, cook the hamburger patty over medium heat for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until it reaches your desired doneness.

Green Chili

  1. 3

    Make the Green Chili

In a saucepan, sauté the diced onion in a little oil over medium heat until translucent. Add the minced garlic, cumin, salt, and pepper, and stir for about 1 minute. Then add the green chili and bring to a simmer. Cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Eggs

  1. 4

    Cook the Eggs

In a small skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Crack the eggs into the skillet and cook them to your desired style (fried, sunny-side-up, or scrambled), which should take about 3-5 minutes.

Assembly

  1. 5

    Assemble the Colorado Loco Moco

On a plate, layer the crispy hash browns first, then place the hamburger patty on top. Generously spoon the green chili over the patty, and finally, top with the cooked eggs. Serve immediately.
