Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Rub the ribeye steak with olive oil, then season generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder on both sides.

  2. 2

    Cook the Steak

Preheat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned ribeye steak. Cook for 4-5 minutes on one side until a crust forms. Flip the steak, add rosemary or thyme, and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes for medium-rare doneness. Adjust cooking time for desired doneness.

  3. 3

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from heat and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This helps retain the juices.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes Preparation

  1. 4

    Boil the Potatoes

Peel and chop the russet potatoes into equal-sized chunks. Place them in a pot of salted water and add the garlic cloves. Bring to a boil and cook for 15-20 minutes or until the potatoes are tender.

  2. 5

    Drain and Mash

Drain the potatoes and garlic thoroughly. Return to the pot, add butter, heavy cream, salt, and black pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.

  3. 6

    Serve

Spoon the garlic mashed potatoes onto a plate and serve alongside the sliced ribeye steak.
