Method
Cooking the Pasta
- 1
Boil the Water
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil over high heat.
- 2
Cook the Pasta
Add the fettuccine pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.
- 3
Drain the Pasta
Once cooked, drain the pasta in a colander and set aside, reserving a cup of pasta water for later use.
Preparing the Chicken
- 4
Season the Chicken
Season the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper on both sides.
- 5
Cook the Chicken
In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 6-7 minutes on each side or until fully cooked and no longer pink in the center.
- 6
Slice the Chicken
Once cooked, remove from the skillet and let rest for a few minutes before slicing into strips.
Making the Alfredo Sauce
- 7
- 8
Add Garlic and Cream
Once the butter is melted, add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant. Then, pour in the heavy cream and stir to combine.
- 9
Stir in Cheese and Season
Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Add salt and black pepper to taste.
- 10
Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the cooked fettuccine to the Alfredo sauce, tossing to coat. If the sauce is too thick, add some reserved pasta water to reach desired consistency.
