Method

Filet Mignon

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steaks

Remove the filet mignon steaks from the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steaks

Rub the steaks with olive oil, then season generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder on both sides.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill or broiler to high heat, about 450°F (232°C).

  4. 4

    Cook the Steaks

Place the steaks on the hot grill or under the broiler. Cook for about 4-6 minutes on each side for medium-rare, adjusting time as necessary for your desired doneness.

  5. 5

    Rest the Steaks

Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.

Baked Potato

  1. 6

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

  2. 7

    Prepare the Potatoes

Scrub the russet potatoes under cold water and prick them several times with a fork.

  3. 8

    Bake the Potatoes

Place the potatoes directly on the oven rack and bake for approximately 45-60 minutes, or until tender when pierced with a fork.

  4. 9

    Add Toppings

Once baked, carefully slice the potatoes open and fluff the insides with a fork. Add butter, sour cream, salt, pepper, and chopped chives to taste.

Hot Bread

  1. 10

    Prepare the Rolls

While the steaks and potatoes are cooking, melt the butter in a small dish.

  2. 11

    Brush the Rolls

Brush the melted butter over the bread rolls.

  3. 12

    Heat the Rolls

Place the rolls in the oven for about 5-10 minutes until warm and slightly crispy. Alternatively, you can warm them in a toaster oven.
