Method

Pasta Preparation

  1. 1

    Boil the Pasta

Carefully add the cannelloni pasta tubes and cook for about 5-7 minutes until slightly softened but not fully cooked. Drain and set aside.

Filling Preparation

  1. 2

    Cook the Filling

Add the fresh spinach and cook until wilted. Stir in the ricotta, mozzarella, and parmesan cheeses, mixing until well combined. Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

Sauce Preparation

  1. 3

    Make the Sauce

Add dried basil, oregano, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes.

Assembly

  1. 4

    Stuff the Cannelloni

Using a spoon or piping bag, carefully fill each cannelloni tube with the meat and cheese mixture.

  2. 5

    Arrange in Baking Dish

Spread a layer of the sauce on the bottom of a baking dish. Place the stuffed cannelloni tubes on top. Pour the remaining sauce over the cannelloni, ensuring they are well covered.

Baking

  1. 6

    Bake the Cannelloni

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until bubbly and golden.
