Combine and Bake
Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until smooth. Stir in boiling water until well combined. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- 5
Cool the Cakes
Remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool in the pans for 10 minutes. Then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
- 6
Prepare Buttercream Frosting
In a large bowl, beat the unsalted butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar and cocoa powder, mixing well. Add heavy cream and vanilla extract, and beat until fluffy.

Assemble the Cake
Once the cakes are completely cool, place one layer on a serving plate. Spread a layer of frosting, then add the next cake layer. Repeat until all layers are stacked.
- 8
Decorate the Cake
Frost the top and sides of the cake with the remaining buttercream. Sprinkle the dark chocolate pearls on top for garnish.
