Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Cook the Vegetables

In a large pot, combine the butternut squash, Granny Smith apples, and enough water to cover them. Bring to a boil and cook until the squash is tender, about 15-20 minutes.

  2. 2

    Blend the Ingredients

Once the vegetables are tender, drain the excess water and add the pumpkin puree, coconut milk, chopped sage, lemon oil, salt, and black pepper to the pot. Blend the mixture using an immersion blender until smooth. Alternatively, transfer the mixture in batches to a blender and blend until smooth.

  3. 3

    Simmer the Bisque

Return the blended mixture to the pot and simmer on low heat for an additional 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together. Adjust seasoning as needed.

  4. 4

    Serve

Ladle the bisque into bowls and garnish with chopped candied pecans. Serve warm.
