Preparation
- 1
Make the Dough
In a small saucepan, heat the milk and 1/2 cup of butter until warm (not boiling). In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm milk mixture, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy. Add eggs, salt, and flour, and knead until smooth. Let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour until doubled in size.
- 2
Prepare the Filling
In a bowl, mix together brown sugar, cinnamon, and chopped pecans. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread 1 tablespoon of softened butter over it, and sprinkle the filling evenly.
- 3
Roll and Cut
Roll the dough tightly from one long side to the other. Cut into 12 equal pieces and place them in a greased baking dish.
- 4
Prepare the Topping
In a saucepan, combine brown sugar, heavy cream, and 1 tablespoon of butter. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to simmer for 5 minutes. Stir in chopped pecans.
- 5
Bake
Pour the topping over the cut buns in the baking dish. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
