Preparation
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- 2
Cream the Butter and Sugars
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- 3
Add Eggs and Vanilla
Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract until well combined.
- 4
Mix Dry Ingredients
In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- 5
Combine Mixtures
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.
- 6
Add Chocolate Chunks
Fold in the chocolate chunks until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- 7
Scoop the Dough
Using a large cookie scoop or spoon, drop generous portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving plenty of space between each cookie.
- 8
Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still soft.
- 9
Add Flaky Sea Salt
Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle a pinch of flaky sea salt on top of each cookie.
- 10
Cool
Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
