Biscuits and Gravy Ingredients

Method

Preparation Instructions

  1. 1

    Make the Biscuits

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the milk until just combined. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently. Roll it out to about 1-inch thickness and cut out biscuits using a biscuit cutter. Place them on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Gravy

In a skillet, cook the ground sausage over medium heat until browned and cooked through. Sprinkle the 1/4 cup of flour over the sausage and stir to coat. Slowly add in 2 cups of milk while stirring continuously until the mixture thickens. Season with black pepper.

  3. 3

    Cook the Eggs

In a separate pan, fry or scramble the eggs to your preference.

  4. 4

    Cook the Potatoes

In a large pot, boil the breakfast potatoes until tender, then drain. You can sauté them in a skillet with a little oil, salt, and pepper until they are golden and crispy.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Dish

Split the biscuits in half and place them on a plate. Top with a generous amount of sausage gravy. Serve with eggs and breakfast potatoes on the side.
