1. Prepare the Ingredients

Start by slicing the fish cakes into bite-sized pieces and chopping scallions into 1-inch pieces.

2. Make the Sauce

In a bowl, mix gochujang, gochugaru, soy sauce, and sugar together to form a sauce.

3. Cook the Tteokbokki

In a large pan, add water and bring it to a boil. Add the rice cakes and cook for about 5 minutes until they soften.

4. Add the Sauce and Fish Cakes

Once the rice cakes are soft, add the sauce and fish cakes to the pan. Stir well to combine.

5. Simmer and Stir-Fry

Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until the sauce thickens and the rice cakes absorb the flavors.

6. Final Touches

Add the scallions and sesame oil, and stir for another minute. Remove from heat and sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving.
