Dumpling Filling
Method
Preparation and Cooking
- 1
Make the Filling
In a mixing bowl, combine ground pork, chopped cabbage, green onions, minced garlic, minced ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- 2
Prepare the Dumplings
Place a dumpling wrapper in the palm of your hand. Add about a teaspoon of the filling to the center of the wrapper. Wet the edges with a little water, fold the wrapper in half, and pinch to seal. Make pleats along the edge for a decorative finish, if desired.
- 3
Cook the Dumplings
In a large skillet, heat a little oil over medium heat. Add the dumplings in a single layer and cook for about 2-3 minutes until the bottom is golden brown. Then, add 1/4 cup of water to the skillet and cover immediately. Let the dumplings steam for about 5-6 minutes until the water has evaporated.
- 4
Serve
Remove the dumplings from the skillet and serve hot with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
