Filling and Crust
Method
Preparation and Baking
- 1
Prepare the Oven and Pie Crust
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). If using a store-bought pie crust, place it in a 9-inch pie dish, crimping the edges as desired.
- 2
Mix the Filling
In a large mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, vanilla extract, eggs, and salt. Whisk until well blended.
- 3
Add Pecans
Stir in the pecans until they are evenly coated in the filling mixture.
- 4
Fill the Pie Crust
Pour the pecan filling into the prepared pie crust, spreading it evenly.
- 5
Bake the Pie
Bake in the preheated oven for 60-70 minutes or until the filling is set and the top is golden brown. If the crust edges begin to brown too quickly, cover them with foil.
- 6
Cool and Serve
Remove the pie from the oven and allow it to cool at room temperature for at least 2 hours before slicing. Serve plain or with whipped cream.
