Ravioli Filling

Breading and Cooking

Method

Prepare Ravioli Filling

  1. 1

    Mix the Filling Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped spinach, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined and set aside.

Make the Ravioli Dough

  1. 2

    Prepare the Dough

On a clean surface, make a mound with the all-purpose flour and create a well in the center. Add the eggs, olive oil, and salt into the well. Gradually mix the flour into the wet ingredients until a dough forms.

  2. 3

    Knead the Dough

Knead the dough for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Wrap in plastic wrap and let it rest for at least 30 minutes.

Assemble the Ravioli

  1. 4

    Roll Out the Dough

After resting, divide the dough into quarters. Roll out one piece at a time into thin sheets, about 1/16 inch thick.

  2. 5

    Fill the Ravioli

Place small spoonfuls of the filling about 1 inch apart on one sheet of dough. Moisten the edges around the filling with water and place another sheet of dough on top. Press down around each filling to seal.

  3. 6

    Cut the Ravioli

Use a knife or a pizza cutter to cut between the filled portions to create individual ravioli. Ensure the edges are well sealed to avoid leakage during cooking.

Bread and Fry the Ravioli

  1. 7

    Prepare Breading Station

Set up a breading station with a bowl of beaten egg, a plate with breadcrumbs mixed with grated Parmesan cheese, and a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  2. 8

    Bread the Ravioli

Dip each ravioli in the beaten egg, allowing excess to drip off, then coat in the breadcrumb mixture. Place on the prepared baking sheet.

  3. 9

    Fry the Ravioli

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the breaded ravioli in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Fry until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.

  4. 10

    Drain and Serve

Remove the fried ravioli and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve warm with marinara sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
