Meatballs or Meat Sauce

Method

Cooking the Spaghetti

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a large pot, bring water to a rolling boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt to the water.

  2. 2

    Cook Spaghetti

Add the spaghetti to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions, usually about 8-10 minutes, until al dente.

  3. 3

    Drain Pasta

Once cooked, drain the spaghetti in a colander and set aside.

Preparing Meatballs or Meat Sauce

  1. 4

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, chopped onion, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until combined.

  2. 5

    Form Meatballs

Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about the size of a golf ball.

  3. 6

    Cook Meatballs

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 6-8 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

  4. 7

    Prepare Sauce

In the same skillet, add the tomato sauce and bring to a simmer. Return the meatballs to the skillet and let them cook in the sauce for an additional 10-15 minutes.

Serving

  1. 8

    Combine and Serve

Place the drained spaghetti on plates, top with meatballs and sauce, and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese before serving.
