Prepare the Meatball Mixture
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, egg, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

Form the Meatballs
Using your hands, form the mixture into meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter.

Cook the Meatballs
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the meatballs on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until cooked through.

Add Tomatoes and Seasoning
Stir in the crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Bring to a simmer, reduce heat, and let it cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Combine Meatballs with Sugo
Add the baked meatballs to the sauce, ensuring they are well coated. Simmer for an additional 10 minutes to allow flavors to meld.

Prepare the Rolls
Slice the Italian rolls in half and toast them lightly in the oven until golden brown.

Assemble the Sandwiches
Place 2-3 meatballs on the bottom half of each roll, spoon over the sugo, and sprinkle with shredded Provel cheese.

Melt the Cheese
Return the sandwiches to the oven and broil for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Remove from oven, close the sandwiches, and serve hot with additional sugo on the side if desired.
