Method

Pasta Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook Cannelloni Tubes

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the cannelloni tubes and cook for about 4-5 minutes until slightly softened. Drain and set aside to cool.

Filling Preparation

  1. 2

    Prepare the Filling

In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced onion and garlic, sauté until translucent. Add the ground pork, beef, and veal. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes. Stir in parsley, grated Parmesan, salt, and black pepper. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.

  2. 3

    Stuff Cannelloni

Using a small spoon or piping bag, carefully fill each cannelloni tube with the meat mixture. Set aside.

Sauce Preparation

  1. 4

    Make the Tomato Cream Sauce

In a saucepan, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until soft. Add the crushed tomatoes, heavy cream, dried basil, salt, and black pepper. Stir well and simmer for about 10 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.

Assembly and Baking

  1. 5

    Assemble the Cannelloni

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Spread a layer of tomato cream sauce on the bottom of a baking dish. Place the stuffed cannelloni tubes on top and cover with the remaining sauce. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.

  2. 6

    Bake

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly.

  3. 7

    Serve

Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your delicious cannelloni!
