Beef Spiedini

Method

Prepare Beef Spiedini

  1. 1

    Cut the Beef

Trim excess fat from the beef sirloin and cut it into 1-inch cubes.

  2. 2

    Season the Beef

In a bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Add the beef cubes and toss to coat evenly.

  3. 3

    Skewer the Beef

Thread the seasoned beef cubes onto the wooden skewers, packing them tightly but not overly compressed.

  4. 4

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Brush with olive oil to prevent sticking.

  5. 5

    Grill the Spiedini

Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally until the beef is cooked to your desired doneness.

Make Amogio Sauce

  1. 6

    Combine Ingredients

In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, chopped parsley, chopped basil, and red pepper flakes until well combined.

  2. 7

    Set Aside

Let the amogio sauce sit for at least 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Cook Pasta and Prepare Sugo

  1. 8

    Boil Water

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil.

  2. 9

    Cook Pasta

Add the pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  3. 10

    Heat Sugo

In a saucepan, heat Maggie’s sugo (or marinara sauce) over medium heat until warmed through.

Serve

  1. 11

    Plate the Dish

On each plate, serve a portion of pasta topped with Maggie's sugo. Add the grilled beef spiedini on top.

  2. 12

    Drizzle Amogio

Drizzle the amogio sauce generously over the beef spiedini before serving.
