Tortilla and Filling

Method

Preparation of Filling

  1. 1

    Prepare the Jalapeño Cream Cheese

In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese and diced jalapeños. Mix well until the jalapeños are evenly distributed. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Chicken Filling

In a separate bowl, mix the shredded cooked chicken with half of the jalapeño cream cheese mixture (saving the other half for topping). Stir until the chicken is well coated.

Assembling and Cooking

  1. 3

    Assemble the Tortillas

Lay out a flour tortilla on a flat surface. Place a generous portion of the chicken filling in the center, fold in the sides, and roll tightly to form a wrap.

  2. 4

    Fry the Tortillas

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, place the assembled tortillas seam-side down in the skillet. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.

  3. 5

    Add Toppings

Once the tortillas are cooked, remove them from the skillet and place them on a serving plate. Spread the remaining jalapeño cream cheese over the top and sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese.

  4. 6

    Melt the Cheese

If desired, you can place the topped tortillas under a broiler for 1-2 minutes to melt the cheddar cheese. Keep a close eye to prevent burning.
