Chimichanga Ingredients
Serving Ingredients
Method
Chimichanga Preparation
Prepare the Filling
In a medium bowl, combine the cream cheese, semi-sweet chocolate chips, sugar, and cinnamon. Mix until smooth and well combined.
Fill the Tortillas
Lay a flour tortilla flat on a clean surface. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the chocolate filling onto the center of the tortilla. Fold the sides over the filling and roll tightly to form a chimichanga. Repeat with the remaining tortillas.
Heat the Oil
In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Use enough oil to cover the bottom of the skillet.
Fry the Chimichangas
Carefully place the filled chimichangas in the hot oil, seam side down. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy. Remove from the skillet and drain on paper towels.
Serving Instructions
Plate the Chimichangas
Place the fried chimichangas on a serving plate.
Drizzle with Syrups
Generously drizzle chocolate syrup and caramel syrup over the chimichangas before serving.
