Method

Steak Marinade Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a medium bowl, combine olive oil, lime juice, minced garlic, ground cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Steak

Place the flank steak in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it is well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.

Cooking the Steak

  1. 3

    Cook the Steak

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade, letting excess marinade drip off. Grill or sear the steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or cook to your desired doneness.

  2. 4

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked, remove the steak from the heat and let it rest for 5 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute.

  3. 5

    Slice the Steak

After resting, slice the steak against the grain into thin strips.

Taco Assembly

  1. 6

    Prepare the Tacos

Warm the corn tortillas on a skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side, until pliable.

  2. 7

    Assemble the Tacos

Place a portion of the sliced steak onto each tortilla. Top with diced onions and chopped cilantro.

  3. 8

    Serve

Serve the tacos with lime wedges on the side for squeezing over the top.
