Steak and Vegetables

Jalapeño Buttered Fried Potatoes

Method

Preparing the Steak and Vegetables

  1. 1

    Marinate the Steak

In a bowl, combine the olive oil and southwestern seasoning. Rub this mixture all over the sirloin steak, ensuring it is evenly coated. Cover and let marinate for at least 30 minutes at room temperature.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Vegetables

While the steak is marinating, wash and slice the bell peppers and onion into strips.

  3. 3

    Grill the Steak

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Once hot, grill the marinated sirloin steak for about 6-7 minutes on each side or until it reaches your desired level of doneness. Remove from grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

  4. 4

    Grill the Vegetables

Place the sliced bell peppers and onions on the grill for about 4-5 minutes, turning occasionally until they are tender and slightly charred.

Preparing the Jalapeño Buttered Fried Potatoes

  1. 5

    Cook the Potatoes

Peel and dice the potatoes into small cubes. Boil them in salted water until fork-tender, about 10-12 minutes. Drain and let cool slightly.

  2. 6

    Fry the Potatoes

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the diced potatoes and season with salt and black pepper. Fry them, turning occasionally, until golden brown and crispy, about 8-10 minutes.

  3. 7

    Add Jalapeño

Stir in the finely chopped jalapeño and cook for an additional 2 minutes until fragrant.
