Main Ingredients

Jalapeño Cream Cheese

Method

Preparation of Jalapeño Cream Cheese

  1. 1

    Make Jalapeño Cream Cheese

In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, chopped jalapeños, lime juice, garlic powder, and salt. Mix until smooth and well-blended.

Cooking the Fajita Filling

  1. 2

    Sauté Vegetables

In a large skillet over medium heat, add a tablespoon of olive oil. Once hot, add sliced bell peppers and onions. Sauté until they are soft and slightly caramelized, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.

  2. 3

    Cook the Protein

In the same skillet, add the grilled steak or chicken, sliced into strips, and cook until heated through, about 3-4 minutes. Mix in the sautéed vegetables and remove from heat.

Assembling and Cooking Quesadillas

  1. 4

    Assemble Quesadillas

Spread a generous layer of jalapeño cream cheese on one side of each tortilla. On the other side, layer the protein and sautéed vegetables, then top with shredded cheese.

  2. 5

    Grill Quesadillas

Heat a clean skillet over medium heat. Place the assembled quesadilla in the skillet and cook until the tortilla is golden brown and the cheese has melted, about 3-4 minutes per side. Repeat for remaining quesadillas.
