1. Prepare the Filling

In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken or beef with refried beans, shredded cheese, salt, ground cumin, and garlic powder. Mix well to combine.

2. Assemble the Flautitas

Warm the corn tortillas in a skillet or microwave until pliable. Take a tortilla and add about 2-3 tablespoons of the filling mixture to the center. Roll the tortilla tightly around the filling to form a flautita. Repeat with the remaining tortillas and filling.

3. Fry the Flautitas

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the flautitas, seam side down, in batches. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.

4. Serve

Serve the flautitas hot with your favorite dipping sauces, such as salsa or guacamole.
