Cocktail Preparation

1

Chill the Glass

Begin by chilling an old-fashioned glass by filling it with ice water and setting it aside.

2

Prepare the Cocktail

In a mixing glass, combine the Sazerac Rye, simple syrup, and Peychaud's bitters. Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir until well chilled.

3

Rinse the Glass

Empty the ice water from the chilled old-fashioned glass and rinse it with Herbsaint by swirling it around the inside of the glass. Discard the excess.

4

Strain the Cocktail

Strain the chilled mixture from the mixing glass into the prepared old-fashioned glass.

5

Garnish

Garnish the drink with a twist of lemon peel, expressing the oils over the drink before placing it in the glass.
