Tempura Green Beans
Method
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Green Beans
Wash the green beans and trim the ends. Pat them dry with a paper towel.
- 2
Make the Tempura Batter
In a large bowl, combine all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt. Gradually whisk in ice water until smooth and well combined.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 180°C (350°F).
- 4
Fry the Green Beans
Dip each green bean into the tempura batter, allowing excess batter to drip off. Carefully place them in the hot oil and fry in batches until golden and crispy, about 2-3 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- 5
Prepare the Dipping Sauce
In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise, Sriracha sauce, and lemon juice. Adjust seasoning as desired.
- 6
Serve
Serve the crispy tempura green beans hot with the creamy dipping sauce on the side.
