Potato Chips

Method

Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and slice the Russet potatoes thinly using a mandoline or a sharp knife. Soak the slices in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

  2. 2

    Dry the Potatoes

After soaking, drain the potato slices and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C) over medium-high heat.

  4. 4

    Fry the Chips

Carefully add a handful of potato slices to the hot oil and fry until they are golden and crispy, about 3-4 minutes. Remove them with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with salt while still hot.

  5. 5

Make the BBQ Ranch Dipping Sauce

In a bowl, combine the ranch dressing, BBQ sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Mix well until fully combined.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the hot potato chips in a basket alongside the BBQ Ranch dipping sauce.
