Cocktail Base
Method
Preparation
- 1
Muddle the Mint and Lime
In a sturdy glass or cocktail shaker, add the fresh mint leaves and granulated sugar. Squeeze the juice from the lime into the glass, and then drop the lime half in as well. Using a muddler or the back of a spoon, gently press down on the mint leaves and lime to release the mint oils and lime juice. Be careful not to shred the mint leaves too much; you want to release the flavors without creating a paste.
- 2
Add Rum
Pour the white rum over the muddled mint and lime mixture. Stir gently to combine all the ingredients.

Garnish and Serve
Garnish your mojito with a sprig of fresh mint on top and a lime wedge on the rim of the glass. Stir gently before enjoying to mix in the flavors.
