Method
Marinade Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Marinade
In a large mixing bowl, combine yogurt, lemon juice, garam masala, ground cumin, paprika, turmeric powder, garlic paste, ginger paste, salt, black pepper, and vegetable oil. Mix well until a smooth paste is formed.
- 2
Marinate the Prawns
Add the cleaned and deveined tiger prawns to the marinade. Ensure they are well-coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight for optimal flavor.
Cooking
- 3
Preheat the Tandoor
Preheat your tandoor or grill to a high temperature (around 250-300°C / 475-575°F).
- 4
Skewer the Prawns
Take the marinated prawns from the refrigerator and thread them onto skewers. Make sure to leave a little space between each prawn for even cooking.
- 5
Cook the Prawns
Place the skewered prawns in the tandoor or on the grill. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, turning halfway through, until the prawns are opaque and have a slight char.
- 6
Garnish and Serve
Remove the prawns from the skewers and transfer to a serving platter. Garnish with freshly chopped coriander and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
